Spring Reminders

Spring is upon us and that means warmer weather and plenty of sunshine.  It also means mosquitos, ticks, and fleas are back and it's time to start your pet's prevention, if you haven't already.  We carry Heartgard and Sentinel for heartworm prevention and Frontline, Nexgard, and Bravecto for flea and tick prevention.  Our doctors have already diagnosed several acute cases of Lyme disease this year and our annual report from the Michigan Department of Health and Human services has named Washtenaw County as a high risk area for this disease.  We had an extremely mild winter and these parasites are present so please keep your pets on their prevention!

Many of your pets are also due for their annual exams this spring and summer.  If you know your pet is due for their annual visit in the upcoming months, please call to schedule your appointment early.  Our doctors only see a few annual visits per day, which allows them time for sick pets and emergencies. These appointment times are filling up fast and we are currently scheduling annual exams into mid-April. We look forward to seeing you and your pets this spring!

WVH launches new website

In an effort to make booking appointments easier and providing hospital updates for our clients and patients, WVH has launched a new website.

Here's what's new:

  • You can stay up-to-date on all the clinic happenings, right here on our beautiful new blog.
  • All of our policies have been updated to allow better care for our patients and their owners.
  • You can fill out our New Patient Registration Form, right here on our website.  Your information will be submitted to our front desk and ready for your appointment.

We are thrilled to have a beautiful new site, with all the information you need right in your pocket, tablet, or on your computer.  We look forward to continue bringing you the best in veterinary care for you and your furry family members.

WVH Welcomes Dr. Butman

WVH is happy to announce that Dr. Barbara Butman has joined our practice!
Dr. Butman has been practicing in Ann Arbor since 1986 and is thrilled to be a part of our team.

My name is Barbara Butman and I am delighted to join the excellent team at WVH.  I attended Michigan State University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Zoology and Animal Husbandry.  I earned my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from MSU in 1979 and have been practicing in the Ann Arbor area for over 30 years.  My many years of experience have given me a unique perspective on all aspects and life phases of my patients.  I believe that accurate diagnosis and successful treatment plans begin with good client communication.  My areas of special interest include soft tissue surgery, ophthalmology, behavior, and internal medicine.  My own animal menagerie includes two Hanoverian horses, three wonderful "mutts", and four felines.  Outside of work I am an avid equestrian and train in dressage.

Call today to schedule your appointment with Dr. Butman!
